Subject: Update
Not much to update this morning, but that is actually good news.
Doctor Nguyen visited with us this morning to tell us that Jerrod is
doing very well, but he wants to be sure he continues to get some
pretty intense speech therapy. He said on Friday he will be able to
give us a prediction of when he can release him from in-patient
therapy to out-patient therapy. Tomorrow (Thursday) we have an
appointment to meet with the ENT again. He will do an audiology test
on Jerrod and try to determine if the noise in his ears is from
swelling and if he has any hearing loss. We are eager to hear what
Dr. Moore says.
Dr. Nguyen believes that his face is broken out and the rash on his
abdomen is probably from the morphine he received when he came out
of surgery. It looks a little better each day so we believe that
will continue to improve too. His occupational therapist worked with
him this morning on how to wash his hair with those incisions. He
wanted to wash it three times this morning. He feels so much better
being able to get a shower and wash his hair. There is not much time
between his therapy sessions but I was able to give him a little bit
of a hair trim right before he ate some lunch. (I think I may need
to stick with advertising.)
We are still scheduled for a CT scan on Friday and Dr. Morgan and
Dr. Nguyen will evaluate the scan and we should know more
conclusively if we will need the permanent shunt or not.
We love you all - don't stop praying,
jerry, carla, jerrod and carly
