Jerrod came out of surgery right at about midnight. It was close to 1:30 am when Carla and I were able to go in and see him. Bless his heart he has really been through it today. He is still sedated and will be until 9 am. His vitals are good. He was able to respond to the Doctors commands. He would squeeze their hands move his fingers. He opened his eyes for them. When Carla and I went in he did not open his eyes or respond, but I did not want him to. I just want him to rest. I just quietly sang a song over him. Then Carla and I whispered a prayer of thanksgiving over him.
Here's my prayer request. Just as fervently as we have prayed for Jerrod in this surgery, I ask you to get on your knees and thank our God for bringing him through this surgery. We MUST be grateful, we must pour our love on God in thankfulness. Let us not be guilty of not saying thank you.
Our next prayer request is that this tumor is benign. We will not know that until next week. Pray hard that we find this to be benign. Third prayer request... pray that they got it all. He has another MRI and a CT scan in the morning to be sure they got it all. Dr. Morgan feels that they did get it all and said the surgery went very well. - Glory to God!
Okay, then we pray for recovery and rehab.

Then, I want to plan a celebration of thanksgiving to God and anyone who has been involved in the extended prayer chain will be invited. I don't know when, what or where. But wouldn't it be awesome to gather as a family and have a huge party that is dedicated to our gratitude to God. I imagine doing it at night and shining spotlights up into the heavens as we pray and sing.

How can I thank you all for your prayers - and your continued prayers. How can I tell you how much I love you? I hope you are able to know that my heart is sincere and full of love and gratitude to each and every one of you.

It is after 3 am and I am fading. I think I will close and try to get some sleep. I am eager to go in and see my precious son in a few hours.
God bless you all and I love you,
jerry
